High tides and rising sea levels are threatening one of the world's most beautiful cities.
To protect Venice from incalculable damage, the MoSe project - the largest public works project in Italian history - will defend the city with 78 inflatable mobile floodgates. These gates will separate Venice from the Adriatic Sea during exceptional high-tide events.
The new Cat® AP655D track type paver was selected to pave the temporary construction plots needed to build the gate housings. Why? Because these plots had to have exceptional sound surfaces to support such huge structures.
