BITELLI ANNOUNCE THE ARRIVAL OF THE NEW BB760
The new BB760 is powered by a Caterpillar 3056E Air to Air After Cooled liquid cooled engine which is electronically
managed to avoid sudden increases or decreases in power to any of the paver functions and allows the general
smooth operation of the paver. With a rated horsepower of over 173 Hp, the machine is well equipped to meet the
demands of the modern paving environment. The unit also has proportional flow control on the tow points - thus enabling
the ability to adjust the sensitivity of the leveling system to prevent sudden increase and decrease in level control.
Proportional augers and feed systems also avoid the surging of material at the screed head, a common problem especially
with lesser configured machine. The machine is available with multiple screed options. The RB4700 vibrating and tamping
heavy duty screed is available as a 100% Bitelli built electric version, the proven RB4700 gas screed, or the lighter
RB4650 Gas or Electrapave - see our "screeds" options for further details.
INCREASED SERVICE COVER
From the 1st of November 2 new service engineers will be operating within the UK.
They are strategically based ,one to cover the West Midlands from Telford and the East & North East based from Lincoln.
Both engineers have many years experience on Asphalt Pavers & Planers, and we look forward to welcoming them to the Finnpave team.
FINNPAVE INVEST IN SERVICE GROWTH
Finnpave, the specialist surfacing division of Finning (UK) Ltd are in the process of building upon their consistent growth in the UK surfacing industry with investment across the organisation.
Since acquiring the business from John Finn, the founder, 2 years ago Finnpave has developed their relationship with Italian manufacturer Bitelli, offering the full range of planers and pavers, and with Caterpillar®, marketing the popular sizes of road rollers.
Greg Mulhearn, who was appointed as General Manager in July 2002, feels that the business is now consolidating its resources and is planning to bring new service focused initiatives to the market.
“Customers have always demanded highly productive equipment in this market, but these days it’s also about the quality and extent of service back-up that makes the difference - they want a solutions based approach to their business needs” he said.
“The original Finning concept, ‘We Service What We Sell’, is the key motivational factor behind our organisations success and we’ll never lose sight of that. We aim to be the best service provider and we have built the most experienced sales and service team in the industry. Our relationships with our customers reflects this,” he added.
So far, 2003 has seen considerable developments and investment within Finnpave, both at the UK Headquarters in March, Cambridgeshire and out in the field. For example, Mulhearn has put a new organisational structure in place that positions 3 experienced personnel focussing on Sales, Service and Parts supply.
A new role of Customer Support Sales Representative has been created for the UK and Ireland with Giles White, one of Finnpave’s most experienced staff, fulfilling the position. This effectively drives Finnpave’s commitment to deliver new levels of service to both new and existing customers.
Finnpave has also increased their service coverage and now has 7 field service engineers covering the UK with a further 2 based in Ireland. Investment in the service vehicle fleet has been considerable and all service vans carry specialist equipment and each service engineer now has a laptop, meaning the majority of service problems can be diagnosed and quickly fixed on site.
£130.000 has just been invested in extending the workshop facilities, resulting in a dedicated bay for used equipment overhauls to Finnpave’s unique “Q” standard. Two new dedicated fabrication booths have been built, the spray booths have been overhauled and now feature 2 Pack paint processes, Zone 1 lighting and a state-of-the-art extraction system.
“Refurbishment of customer equipment is growing rapidly, particularly with many customers now specifying the installation of our ‘Electrapave’ electrically heated screed as a retro fit unit. We have already completed 35 Electrapave conversions in the last 20 months” Mulhearn commented.
Health and Safety practices have also been subject to a long hard look resulting in rigorous new training procedures. All employees are in the process of completing “IOSH” training and all field service engineers are now training for ‘Safety Passports’. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) has also been an area where investment in the latest equipment means the highest levels of good safety practices are being implemented.
This year, in line with the rest of Finning, Finnpave achieved the International Quality Management Systems Standard ISO 9001:2000, with the award presented by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance on July 8th 2003 at March.
